Royal Princess Rooms at Riverside Blog by Agent Miriam

Riverside is a quite beautiful resort, and when we stayed there I remember thinking that it was much nicer than what I thought a "Moderate" would be.  The grounds are so pretty, and are immaculate.  Just a walk through the resort is enjoyable!  This Moderate has one distinct advantage over the other three Moderate resorts: half of the resort contains guest rooms that house up to five guests, plus another under age three.  All of the other Moderates have maximum capacities of four plus one under three.

There are plenty of extra activities to keep you busy at Riverside, including horse drawn carriage rides, hair braiding, catch-and-release fishing, and water activities.

Half of the resort is called "The Mansions", and is made up of stately buildings with imposing entrances.  Four people plus one child under age three are allowed per guest room.

Down on the bayou...the "Alligator Bayou", that is, the buildings are charming and set like swampy New Orleans.  One advantage to this side of the resort is that five people plus one child under age three can stay in one guest room; one of the double beds has a pull out trundle bed.  This is the only Moderate that contains guest rooms that fit five.

One thing I love about Riverside (and French Quarter, for that matter) is that you can pull the curtains by the sinks and make a little "room" for a child in a pack n play bed.

All guest room doors open to the exterior.

Guest rooms have two sinks, two double beds, and a fridge.  Alligator Bayou rooms have trundle beds that pull out under one of the double beds.

The main pool is called Ol' Man Island, although there are several pools around the resort.  This is the legend of Ol' Man Island.

It might be nice to have a car while staying at this resort; there are several bus stops, and the busses also stop at French Quarter.  The resort is very large and spread out, although quite lovely.

The Marina contains many boats for rental, as well as bicycles.
